Call forwarding guide

How to forward calls on Verizon.

On a Verizon mobile phone, forwarding is one code dialled from the phone itself. On a One Talk business line, it is a setting in the app, on the desk phone, or in the portal.

Forward all mobile calls

  1. Open the phone dialler on the Verizon line you want to forward.
  2. Dial *72 followed by the 10-digit number, for example *72-908-123-4567. Enter your OnAnswer247 number as the destination.
  3. Press call and wait for the confirmation tone or message.

Your phone will not ring while this is on. Calls go straight to your OnAnswer247 number.

Forward only the calls you do not answer

  1. Open the phone dialler on the Verizon line.
  2. Dial *71 followed by your OnAnswer247 number, then press call.
  3. Wait for the confirmation tone or message.

Your phone rings first. If you do not pick up, the call forwards. This is the usual pick with an answering assistant.

Turn mobile forwarding off

  1. Dial *73 from the Verizon line and press call.
  2. Wait for the confirmation tone or message. It may sound like a busy signal.

One Talk business lines

One Talk offers Always, Busy, and No Answer forwarding, plus selective forwarding for chosen callers. Set it in any of these places:

Enter your OnAnswer247 number as the destination. To stop, return to the same screen and switch forwarding off.

Test it

Once you forward to your OnAnswer247 number, call your Verizon line from another phone. The assistant should answer. If your own phone rings on all-calls forwarding, the code did not take: dial it again and listen for the confirmation.
